Engineering Exam in Karnataka

Are you interested to pursue an engineering degree from Karnataka? Then it is better to know about CET (Common Entrance Test) or Karnataka Engineering Entrance Exams. This admission test is conducted annually to admit students to the various engineering institutions within Karnataka. This entrance test measures the potential of the students. Apart from CET, Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka is the other entrance exam that is held in Karnataka.

 

To apply for Engineering or Technology courses one must have passed the 10+2 exam pattern with Physics and Mathematics.  Other optional subjects at 10+2 include Computer Science, Electronics, Chemistry and Bio-Technology. The student have to get at least 45 % of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects to apply for CET. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes get a relaxation of 5%. They are required to get just 40% to apply.  Moreover, either of parents should have Kannada, Tulu or Kodava as mother tongue.

 

The students are selected on the basis of performance on the entrance exam.  The exam includes 120 objective questions. The application forms for 2010 Karnataka CET will be available from February 2nd week, 2010. KCET, 2010 is scheduled to be held on April End, 2010.
