Jagran Social Welfare Society, a Bhopal based organization and Leeds Metropolitan University from UK have joined forces to provide a slew of educational courses and degree programs in India. They have decided to provide these degrees at the Bhopal campus of Leeds Met India.

The programs would kick off from September 2009 onwards. In this case the students would be receiving undergraduate level courses in areas such as business studies, international business, retail marketing management and business and human resources management.

The Bhopal campus of Leeds Met India would also be providing courses at post graduate level from 2010 onwards. These would be mostly Master of Science and Master of Business Administration courses. Some new undergraduate courses would be offered as well in subjects such as event management, advertising management and marketing management.

AICTE, it has been learnt, would be providing its approval to all these degree programs in the due course. Stephen Parkinson who is the pro-vice chancellor of the Leeds Metropolitan University has said that they are trying to make accessible to the Indian students the quality of business education that is available in the UK. They are also trying to reach out to the maximum possible people. Parkinson has said that students in India would now be able to avail international standard degrees at costs that are 70 percent less.
