True friends

September 11, 2008 By: nanditam Category: Few Relations on Earth Never Die, my Friend! No Comments →

In my journey of life, I come across some people who are mere passersby while others leave an impact through their presence in so many different ways. As the number of people grow on my friend’s list, the more I become aware of whom my real friends are.

It is when I have to give a forced smile to my so called friends of today that I really miss my true friends from my good old school days. There have been so many moments when I have felt the absurdity of hanging around with people who I cannot connect with. True friends are those with whom I can spend hours without feeling the pressure to say a word. This is what I feel. You can always beg to differ.

My Dear friend!

Friendship is a unique relation that grows often stronger than the bond of blood ties. The concept of this relation changes and evolves as we grow in age. While during school days, it is more about playing games, sharing stupid jokes and tiffin and choosing a best friend, the definition of friends reach a new dimension in college amidst the canteen, first fag and being the messenger of love letters or the agony aunt.

As we drift away from the friends, we tend to lose memory of their names, locations and faces. Thanks to the social networking sites like FRIENDS & ORKUT that we can hunt for those hidden faces, trace their locations and reconnect to them after decades.
The feeling is divine! And the ecstasy undefined!

Friendship is a gift more precious than anything we can ever have. On the occasion of friendship week, let us appreciate all the moments we have shared with our beloved friends. There may have been some moments of fun and frolic, and some moments of tears and misunderstanding, but every moment with a friend is worth cherishing forever.

On the occasion of Friendship Day, lets all show our love to our friends in the most special way we can. There are so many ways to celebrate friendship and bond with each other. Surprise your friend with a bunch of her favorite flowers or simply drop in to his/her place and spend quality time together. If your friends are far away, call and tell them how precious they are to you. Little acts of affection are most precious than expensive gifts for your loving friend.

Friendship is something we should celebrate everyday. It is the most precious relationship that we form and therefore just a single day is not enough to show your friend just how much he/she means to you. ‘A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed’

August 02, 2008 By: priyankadey Category: Few Relations on Earth Never Die, my Friend! No Comments →

‘Friendship is like the relationship between the hand and the eyes. It’s like when the hand gets hurt, the eyes cry and when the eyes cry, the hand wipes the tears.’ It is a very common quotation but it has a great meaning. Every year numerous people get touched by Friendship Day messages on the cards and the mementoes, but the real friendship is doing some good deed for a friend, for ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed’.

‘Dil Mange More’…

August 02, 2008 By: Raxit Category: Few Relations on Earth Never Die, my Friend! No Comments →

It’s International Friendship Day. Would you like to celebrate this day in a special yet unique way? If you do agree with me, then you can celebrate this Friendship Day as I did it last year. Believe me it was a great fun. Still now we can remember the fun and merriment that we have done on that day. Let me share the memory with you.

Last year, me and some of my friends organized a small party in my house. It was quite an informal party. But the interesting part was we have decided to watch a movie together. It was ‘Dil Chahta Hain’ that we have watched and enjoyed a lot, not because of its storyline or presentation, because of its theme. The easy going and non-authoritarian approach of this film made all of us happy. We simply enjoyed each character of this film as they helped us to memorize our college days.

It was a nice idea to watch a film like this on Friendship Day. Later we had dinner together and share some small gifts with each other. Isn’t it great? You can also try this along with your friends if you want to make this day special and memorable.

So, enjoy this Friendship Day with your friends and Happy Friendship Day to all of you.

Book of Choice

Books are special for every occasion and when it is about friends then it is surely a perfect gift. I have just completed reading “Three mistakes of my life” by Chetan Bhagat. It is a marvelous book and your friend would definitely love to get it as a gift. The story is about three friends and their ups and downs in life. Decorate the book with a gift wrap and present it to her on friendship day. An unaccustomed earth by Jhumpa Lahiri is also a good book and can be offered to your best friend.

Ways to Celebrate

To raise a toast to your friends….the most valued persons in your life…you can do a few tidbits to make the day memorable and special for all.

Ok to share my idea and my plans as to how I am going to celebrate the friendship day this year:

We will have a gathering which will start from Saturday night….I have called 5 friends to my place. We will start with a sumptuous dinner followed by a grand dessert…. night will be spent in talking, gossiping and all those murmurs that will definitely keep us all charged.

Next early in the morning, we all will go to the market to buy some food and will return home to cook them, altogether…after a bath we will have the delicious lunch which will definitely comprise of a full course meal….starter to dessert….an afternoon session in front of the television and just gearing up for the eventful evening ahead….in the evening we will be going to a theater to catch up with a new release and then a dinner at another friend’s place.

With all this feel-good factors and happily and merrily we will be back home and will pledge to keep in touch with one and all….

To look forward to days where they will be our only source of happiness and guidance and we will be always together to make each other life a paradise.
