Although, it’s not directly related to our Independence day, but offers a glimpse of the political scenario of the time and contribution of common men in the movement. Yes, I am talking about “1942 A love Story”. A film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra deals with the story of two lovers caught in the middle of the violent revolutionary movement of the time. Naren played by Anil Kapoor is in love with Rajjo (Manisha Koirala) daughter of Anupam Kher, a revolutionary leader. The story highlights the miseries of the protestors and the harsh rules of the British government. The music by Rahul Dev Barman still tops the chart of favorites of all time. The mind blowing performances by Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Danny deserves a special mention. It won’t be a bad idea to collect a DVD of the movie and watch it at home. The movie is going to fill your life with love and at the same time will make you aware of the political scenario of the time.
